"The type locality of this species is Tucumán and the type locality for one of its synonyms, Anopheles clarki Komp 1943, is Monteros, Tucumán (Knight & Stone 1977; Faran 1981). Anopheles noroestensis Galvo & Lane 1937 is considered to be a synonym of Anopheles evansae by Faran (loc. cit.) so that all previous literature alluding to it is referrable to evansae. Peyton et al. (1983) called attention to the correct gender for the name of this species.Various authors have incorrectly refered to it as evansi, e. g., Faran (1981)." (Mitchell & Darsie, 1985).
