Culicidae from Argentina and Uruguay is a catalogue where we provide users with information about native and invasive mosquitoes. This catalogue is based on numerous studies that are constantly updating the geographical distribution, and providing new data on the biology and ecology of the species in both countries. For each species, synonyms are provided, a map with the geographical distribution by province, and a list of countries where each species is present. It highlights their health importance, habitats and breeding sites, bionomic observations of interest, and whether they are native, endemic or invasive. At the end of each species, a bibliographic list of the studies carried out to date is presented. In the References section you can find bibliography on mosquitoes in Argentina and Uruguay from 1878 to the present, as well as descriptions of each species, when these have been described in other countries. Due to the sanitary interest of culicids, we also include in the references, studies from Argentina on arboviruses, epidemiology, and chemical and biological control.
