Casi todo el norte de Sudamérica hasta Bolivia y sur de Brasil.
Muy grande, con los márgenes del disco pronotal dentados. La especie en Misiones podría ser también el muy similar Steirodon (Posidippus) dentiferoides Emsley, 1970. Necesita verificación.
