Listostylus Faust includes several species distributed in Central America, Antilles, and tropical and subtropical South America.

Listostylus diadema is easily recognized by the yellow or pale yellowish, usually with waxy exudate, scaly vestiture, the strongly conical rostrum, the head constricted behind the eyes and the base of elytra strongly bisinuate.
It feeds on leaves of Citrus spp (Rutaceae), Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam. (Convolvulaceae) and Piper sp (Piperaceae) (Silva et al. 1968) and causes damage in Bertholletia excelsa H.B.K. (Lecythidaceae) in Brazil (Morais et al. 2014).

Mainly associated with vegetation of tropical and subtropical America.
