It is one of the largest species of the genus in Argentina along with P. nodipennis. It is characterized by a yellow-green vestiture, and large tubercles on elytra covered with yellow pilosity.
Vitis vinifera L. (Vitaceae) in Brazil (Costa Lima 1956).

It is mainly associated with vegetation of the Atlantic and Paranaense forests.
