The genus Trichonaupactus Hustache includes a single species which integument is completely covered with brown-whitish recumbent setae and erect setae. The are not true scales. The vestiture of the scutellum is white.

It causes damage on Medicago sativa L. (Fabaceae) in central Argentina (Lanteri, 1994; Lanteri et al. 2002a).
