E. vittatus differentiates from the remaining species of Eurymetopus, because the rostrum is more slender and elongate, and the elytra have dark-brown vittae along all the even intervals, intercalated with light vittae on the odd-numbered intervals.

A key to species of Eurymetopus was given by Lanteri (1984) and Lanteri & Morrone (1995).
