Ericydeus Pascoe includes some of the largest and most colorful species of Naupactini. It is distributed from USA to Argentina and was revised by Lanteri (1995a), who provided a key for the identification of its species.
Ericydeus argentinensis distinguishes from E. sedecimpunctatus because is usually smaller; the vestiture is pale green on dorsum and pinkish on head and legs, with dark maculae of pronotum and elytra very small to indistinct; the flanks of pronotum are more curved and the elytra are shorter, wider and the slightly bifid apex.
