E. catamarcensis differentiates from E. ortizi mainly because the vestiture is absent except for the cream stripes along the disc of the elytra; the pronotum is strongly punctate-rugose, with posterolateral angles projecting backwards; and the elytra is shorter and wider than in the latter species.

Probably associated with vegetation of the Monte biogeographic province, mainly Prosopis sp and Larrea sp.
