Catalano et al. (2011) observed a change in coloration in the adult stage: upon emergence, the body and forewings are whitish, then the coloration changes to greenish-yellow between 1 and 3 days of age. From the fourth day of age, red spots begin to appear on the corona and scutellum, and the thoracic sternites and urotergites change from white to dark brown. After 5 days from adult emergence, the specimens reach their final coloration.
