Also known from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guiana, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, and Venezuela (Mazzucconi et al. 2009, Floriano et al. 2016).
Female paratype at USNM (United States National Museum of Natural History, Washington DC, USA).
This species can be found in shaded rivers, streams and ponds (Floriano et al. 2016).
