Relación con enfermedades: La especie ha estado potencialmente involucrado como vector del virus de la fiebre amarilla (Cano et al. 2022).
Las larvas de Sabethes aurescens han sido encontradas en internudos de los bambúes Guadua chacoensis y Merostachys clausseni (Campos et al. 2011).
