"Esta especie es conocida sólo por el holotipo, cuya localidad tipo es Buenos Aires, cerca del río Paraná. La especie fue formalmente colocada en sinonimia bajo Aedes fulvus (Stone et al. 1959), pero fue restituida por Belkin (1968) como una especie de Psorophora". (Mitchell & Darsie, 1985).
