"This species is known only from the holotype, whose type locality is Buenos Aires, near Paraná River. The species was formaly placed in synonymy under Aedes fulvus (Stone et al. 1959), but was resurrected by Belkin (1968) as a species of Psorophora." (Mitchell & Darsie, 1985).
