Disease relations: The species has been found naturally infected with the Bunyamwera virus in Formosa Province (Gallardo et al., 2019).
Pupae have been collected from temporary and permanent breeding sites of variable size (from very small to 30 m long); with or without floating vegetation; in the shade, with partial shade, until the full sun (Bangher 2020). The water was clear or turbid, transparent or brown, with or without organic matter (14-35 ºC, pH 5 a 8.60 being the most acid ranges the preferred ones for the development of this species (Bangher 2020).
