  • Aptolemus rufipes Boheman 1843: 2
Aptolemus Schoenherr is a monotypic genus closely related to Platyomus Salberg (Lanteri & del Río 2017). Both genera are distinguished by the very wide and flat antennal scapes.

The single species of Aptolemus, A. rufipes, shows three morphotypes, the former is devoid of scales; the second has dark brown maculae forming two V-shaped lines across the elytra, one on middle length and another on posterior third; and the third morphotype is whitish, with pale brown pattern of V-shaped lines across the elytra.

In Argentina is associated with vegetation of the Paranaense forest.
