Osborn (1938) described this species for the first time in based on a specimen collected in Bolivia and associated two females collected in the Bermejo River with it, although they exhibit slight external differences. The province where these females were collected cannot be specified, because the author only indicates that it was in the Bermejo River, which could have been the province of Salta, Formosa or Chaco.
