Until now, this species is only mentioned for Argentina, according to Metcalf (1961). Mahanarva, one of the most economically important genera, includes many pests of sugar cane and pastures, such as M. liturata, M. spectabilis and M. fimbriolata (Paladin & Cavichioli 2014).
