This leafhopper is cited as one of the main insect species that attacks sweet potato crops in Perú (Cetraro & Ortiz 1982).
Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas Poir.), potato (Solanum tuberosum L.), cotton Gossypium hirsutum L.) and maize (Zea mays L.) (Langlitz, 1964), tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mili.) and different species of bean (Southern, 1982) and on morning glory (Ipomea indica and Ipomea purpurea) (Paradell et al., 1990)
