Specimens from Buenos Aires were collected in a permanent water body around 500 meters away from the shore of the Río de la Plata (34° 47’ S ; 58° 01’W). The area sampled was usually covered by floating vegetation and shaded by a dense forest (Lopez Ruf & Perez Goowyn 2001).
