Type specimens deposited at Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales, Buenos Aires, Argentina (MACN).
This species it is often found among the roots of Pistia stratiotes although it is not uncommon in the greater water courses, in the reed beds of Scirpus californicus (Bachmann 1962).
