Type locality: "The original description was based on specimens from Las Conchas, Zárate, Baradero, Navarro and Chacabuco, Buenos Aires province (Belkin et al. 1968; Knight & Stone 1977)." (Mitchell & Darsie, 1985).

Disease relations: unknown.
Immature stages were collected in shady habitats, including pools with dense masses of semi-submerged vegetation, puddles between rocks in a river bed, and in artificial ponds, lagoons, and animal tracks. Larvae were collected coexisting with Nyssorhynchus argyritarsis. Females were captured both in urban, sub-, and peri-urban environments.
