Observations
The type locality of the typical species is Las Conchas, Buenos Aires Province (Knight & Stone 1977). Older references called this species Ur. urania Shannon & Del Ponte which was synonymized under pulcherrima by Lane (1951) (Mitchell and Darsie, 1985).
Habitat and breeding sites
Immature stages have been collected from large open swamps with abundant growth of different types of aquatic vegetation.
