"Neither Arnell (1973) nor Knight & Stone (1977) recorded this species from Argentina, althought Arnell 's map in Fig. 3 shown it in Misiones Province, and he includes references to the published work of Martínez et al. 1961a and Martínez & Carcavallo (1965) in his synonymy review. Dyar 's (1928) report of Haemagogus equinus Theobald in Argentina probably refers to this species since he listed capricornii as a synonym of equinus." (Mitchell & Darsie, 1985).
Haemagogus capricornii is specialists, that is, they use phytotelmata as their only breeding site (Obholz et al., 2020).
