Observations
grandis Macfie, 1939c: 6 (female). Type locality: Brazil, Santa Catarina, Nova Teutônia. HT F (BMNH). Distr.- Mexico (on train quarantined in Arizona), Belize, Venezuela, Brazil (Pará, Santa Catarina), Argentina (Corrientes: arroyo Vega at national Rt. 12, 30º06'39.2''S, 59º31'56.9''W; arroyo Pay Ubre, 29°01'41.2''S, 58°10'26.6''W, 66 m). Refs.: Spinelli et al., 2012b: 887; Ronderos et al., 2012b: 40.

Female: only extant species of Paryphoconus with an infuscated wing, especially darker on anterior margin. Male: only extant species of Paryphoconus with mandibular teeth and an aedeagus with the posteromedial portion slightly notched.
