This catalog compiles the species of Trichoptera distributed in Argentina and Uruguay. This
information is based on specialized bibliography and unpublished records from collecting trips
made by the authors. In southern South America, the greatest diversity of species occurs in the
Parana Forest, Las Yungas, and the Valdivian Forest, being the Argentine Patagonia of
particular interest due to the high degree of endemism it harbors at species and genera level
(around 84% of the species and 50% of the genera are endemic). For each of the species,
information is provided about the type material, synonyms, distribution, whether immature
stages have been described, and main bibliographical references. In addition, photographs or
drawings of the habitus or genitalia of the species are provided whenever they are available.
