About the catalogue
Trachypachidae is a family of the suborder Adephaga (Coleoptera) constituting the sister group of Carabidae plus Cicindelidae. Thrachypachidae includes two genera, Trachypachus with two species from the northeastern Eurasia and other two from western North America and the genus Systoloma with two species from Argentina and Chile that inhabit the Nothofagus forest of Valdivian Rain Forest. This Trachypachidae catalog of Argentina presents updated information about the species found in our country, their synonymic list, photographs of their habit, as well as their distribution in each province where they have been observed. The compiled information for this purpose has been gathered over nearly 40 years of personal research, with much of it coming from materials deposited in museums, institutes, and other collections. Some of the information also comes from publications by other researchers, both national and international.
