Solo conocida de Argentina (Lent & Wygodzinsky 1979, Ceccarelli et al. 2018).
Triatoma limai está estrechamente relacionada con Triatoma circummaculata, de la cual, sin embargo, se distingue por una considerable brecha geográfica y caracteres estructurales y cromáticos leves pero constantes (Lent & Wygodzinsky 1979).
Esta especie se encuentra debajo de rocas en el suelo y se cree que se alimenta de roedores silvestres (Lent & Wygodzinsky 1979).
