This species was reported from Argentina with the names Acanthocheila denieri (Monte, 1940), Acanthocheila rustica plana (Drake, 1953) and Carvalhotingis hollandi (Monte, 1940). The species is illustrated in Monte (1940). Froeschner in 1995 synonymyzed them with C. hollandi . There is a key to determine the species of Carvalhotingis (Froeschner, 1995).
