This catalog contains information on the family Andrenidae (Hymenoptera: Anthophila), a group of worldwide distribution with about 3,000 described species. It is a rather heterogeneous group of bees, with representatives ranging from large (Oxaeini) to medium and small size (Calliopsini and Protandrenini). Many of its members are specialists in the use of pollen resources. All species are solitary inhabit and nest on the ground, although there is communal nesting behavior in some genera. There are not parasitic bees in this family. In this catalog we provide basic taxonomic information such as synonyms, geographical distribution in Argentina and Uruguay, and the most relevant bibliographical references. In addition, for many of the species we include photographs and information on their host plants, observations on their nests and natural enemies. All the information available in this catalog was compiled by the authors using available scientific literature, information from material deposited in the entomological collection of the Museo de La Plata and their own field work.
