In a study conducted in scrublands of northern La Pampa province, De Wysiecki et al. (2000) recorded that D. vittatus and D. pratensis constituted 66% of the grasshopper communities, and that the former was present in 37.5% of the sampled sites. Dichroplus vittatus was present in 40% of the sites monitored during 1994-99 in western Buenos Aires and Eastern La Pampa provinces (Cigliano et al., 2000). In some sites, it was one of the 4 most abundant species.
